This beachside esplanade offers wheelchair-accessible parking, accessible toilets, and easy paths to picnic spots, ensuring a perfect day by the sea. For a scenic alternative, the Coastal Boardwalk connects Kissing Point to Rowes Bay, featuring observation decks and rest stops for a leisurely adventure.
Accessible via ferry, Magnetic Island offers quiet coves, scenic beaches, and endless beauty. Alma Bay, Picnic Bay and Horseshoe Bay provide beach wheelchairs, accessible toilets, and scenic views. Stay in Island Leisure Resort or the cozy Karuna Cottage for a relaxing, accessible retreat amid lush gardens. The intra-island bus service connects you effortlessly to key spots across the island. For a water adventure, Aquascene Magnetic Island offers a fully accessible boat tour, with floating aids and a pontoon, making it easy to explore the Coral Sea’s wonders. The Queensland MuseumTropics showcases the region’s rich history with accessible exhibits, sensory kits, and wheelchair availability. For maritime enthusiasts, the Maritime Museum explores the famous SS Yongala shipwreck and has boardwalk access, hands-on activities, and free admission for carers.
For a mix of culture and recreation, Riverway is a local favorite with an 11 km riverside track, an arts center, and the serene Riverway Lagoons. Accessibility ramps lead to the swimming areas, providing a relaxed oasis.

Our skilled staff at the Townsville Visitor Information Centre warmly welcome you, and have undergone accessibility awareness training to provide an inclusive experience for all visitors. Our centre is wheelchair accessible, with wide doorways and a single level. A publicly accessible bathroom with automated doors is located next to our centre. A grassy area suitable for toileting assistance animals is available just two metres from our front door.
