Alva Beach Tourist Park
This is a hosted stay through Hipcamp, below is the information provided by the Host regarding their offering. A friendly welcome to Alva Beach Tourist Park tucked away in the small coastal village of Alva and just a 15km drive from the town of Ayr and Burdekin Shire. Located a few hundred meters at the back of the dunes of the beach, the park consists of 5 acres of tropical grounds with park sites and cabins set amongst coconut palms and hibiscus hedges. They offer powered and non-powered sites with or without slabs. En-suite cabins can sleep up to six persons or budget cabins that will sleep up to 4 persons. The park being coastal catches the great cooling sea breezes during the hotter summer months and the sparkling pool is a great spot to soak up the sun and cool off with a few laps. There is 4WD access from the park onto the beach for boat launching, fishing, and crabbing. The region is a well-known fishing mecca, with access to Barramundi, mud crabs, other estuary species, and off-coast reef fishing. Alva is also the closest point to the world-famous SS Yongala wreck.

It's a fantastic area for fishing and boating enthusiasts - Morris Estuary provides a plethora of fish varieties including Barramundi and crabbing opportunities.

Nestled in the foothills of stunning Mount Surround. Former home of the Palm Creek folk festival. Pick a spot and set up camp. Enjoy the 90 acres of shady grounds with plenty of wildlife, including pretty face wallabies and abundant birdlife. The dam is great for non-motorized water sports where you can swim or paddle about on your kayak, canoe or SUP. (Please be aware entry to the dam is a bit muddy and weedy but the water is beautiful and fresh further in). Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray especially if camping by the lake. Settle down of an evening by the campfire then sit back and enjoy the spectacular starry night sky. (Wood available for purchase at the camp kitchen $10 a crate). Located conveniently 45 km South from Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry terminal, 45km north of Ayr, 8km north of Giru. Children under 5yrs stay for free. Pet friendly (on a lead under owners' control at all times). Powered and unpowered sites available Separate men and women's toilets and hot showers.

Conveniently located 45 kilometres north of Ayr and 45 kilometres south of Townsville, just off the Bruce Highway with your own turning lane in either direction. Relax in this peaceful, family friendly campground, nestled in the foothills of Mount Elliot and the Great Dividing Range. Enjoy the 70 acres of shady grounds with plenty of wildlife, including pretty faced wallabies and abundant bird life. The 20-acre dam is spacious and picturesque. Rain fed it can be low during the dry season. When full it is lovely for kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. Unfortunately, there are no fish in the dam as yet. Powered or unpowered sites available. Catering to any size rig. Male and female toilet /shower block. Hot showers. Coin operated washing machines, clothes lines. Camp kitchen with gas barbecue cook tops, filtered drinking water and two fridges.
