Run wild and free in one of the many off-leash areas and parks in Townsville! A local fav would have to be Palleranda with its epic beaches, hidden trails, and stunning views to Magnetic Island - definitely one for you and your furry companion to enjoy.

From free treats to complimentary water bowls, there are plenty of pet-friendly cafes where you can share a puppuchino or two with your furry friend. Juliette’s and Juliette’s Gelateria on the Strand and FatDogz at Cannon Park, just to name a few!
Trails and tracks
Unleash your dog’s natural desire to explore with tracks and trails off the beaten track . Take a bush walk up the popular Castle Hill or let them feel the sand under their paws with a beachside stroll along Pallarenda.
- Castle Hill – hit up the popular goat track around the city’s best vantage point
- Herveys Range – plenty of mini adventures along the Hervey’s Marbles or old highway (Page’s Road)
- Ross River pathway – take a scenic stroll then freshen up with a doggie paddle
- Rowes Bay Pallarenda – run along the beach and feel the salty breeze in your hair (and fur)
