Bruce Highway Visitor Information Centre
The Bruce Highway Visitor Information Centre is located in the main building of Billabong Sanctuary which is an interactive wildlife park set in 11 hectares of wilderness and right next to a picturesque Australian billabong. This accredited Visitor Information Centre offers a one stop shop for travel information including maps, brochures and itineraries. Staffed by skilled and knowledgeable locals, the Bruce Highway Visitor Information Centre can provide advice on the things to see, things to do and where to eat. Discuss your travel plans with the friendly staff. Heading North? They are situated on the right hand side of the road approximately 2.5 kilometres north of the Alligator Creek Caltex Service Station. Heading South? They are situated on the left hand side of the road approximately 17 kilometres south of Townsville on the Bruce Highway. Road signs on the highway direct you straight to the Billabong Sanctuary.
Burdekin Gateway Visitor Information Centre
The Burdekin Gateway Visitor Information Centre is located on Railway Avenue in Home Hill. Situated behind the Home Hill Comfort Stop, it's the ideal place to call in when first arriving in town. The friendly and knowledgeable local staff can provide advice on what to see and do, and where to eat in the Burdekin. As an accredited Visitor Information Centre they are able to provide travel information including brochures, itineraries and maps. Free wi-fi is also available. The Centre is air-conditioned, and houses part of a photographic collection from the Lower Burdekin Historical Society. Burdekin Visitor Information Centre
The recently redeveloped Burdekin Visitor Information Centre is located in Plantation Park on the Bruce Highway in Ayr. It is about an hour's drive south from Townsville, and an hour and fifteen minutes north of Bowen. With lots of parking space for caravans and motor homes, Plantation Park makes an excellent spot to break your trip and consider your options. Staffed by skilled and knowledgeable locals, this accredited Visitor Information Centre can provide advice on things to see, things to do and where to eat. The centre offers up-to-date travel information including maps, brochures and itineraries. Free WIFI internet access is provided, and now operating as a Driver Reviver site, free tea and coffee is available. The friendly volunteers are ready to welcome visitors to the district.
Hinchinbrook Visitor Information Lounge
Hinchinbrook Visitor Information Lounge is located on the Bruce Highway, south of Ingham. This accredited visitor information centre offers a one stop shop for travel information including maps, brochures, and itineraries. Staffed by skilled and knowledgeable locals, the Hinchinbrook Visitor Information Lounge can provide advice on the things to see, things to do and where to eat and can also book your Queensland National Park camping permits. The centre is full of fun,interpretive and interactive displays as a prelude to exploring. It is your gateway to Hinchinbrook.
Home Hill Comfort Stop
The Home Hill Comfort Stop includes all the facilities you need to enjoy a short break on your travels. Toilets, hot showers, barbecues, meal preparation benches and sinks, picnic tables, parents room and disabled bathroom. During the winter months from April through to September, the Comfort Stop is very popular, and it is best to arrive by lunchtime to secure your spot for the night. Parking for self-contained caravans, motor homes and campervans is available in Railway Avenue, the street behind the Comfort Stop. Visitors are allowed 48 hours free stop-over. Plenty of parking is available in Eighth Avenue at the front of the Comfort Stop if you are planning a brief stop to use the facilities. Look for the signs as you enter Home Hill. Whilst you are at the Comfort Stop, take your photo using the Shareable Moments Wall. Tag and upload them to your Facebook and Instagram accounts. Your friends will have a laugh to see you diving the Yongala Wreck or driving a tractor!

Port of Lucinda
Located 100 kilometres north of Townsville, the Port of Lucinda exports raw sugar grown in the Ingham district. It is equipped with on-shore sugar handling and storage facilities, as well as a single trestle jetty and conveyor running out to an off-shore berth and shiploader. The jetty is one of the longest of its type in the world, extending 5.6 kilometres out to sea and dipping 1.2 metres over its length as it follows the curvature of the earth. Sugar takes 22 minutes to travel along the conveyor from the on-shore storage sheds to the shiploader.

Discuss with the friendly staff your travel plans or make a booking. Travelling with a Caravan or RV? Parking on Flinders Street is limited for Caravans and larger vehicles. Suitable parking is located on Dean Street or close to the Reef HQ and Museum of Tropical Queensland. From Dean Street, take a short walk across The Victoria Bridge to take you right into the heart of the CBD. The Visitor Information Centre is located 700 metres along Flinders Street from Reef HQ and the Museum of Tropical Queensland. Follow the accredited Information Centre signage to find your way.
