Day 1 - Townsville
The Strand: Take a stroll down The Strand – Townsville’s beach promenade. Enjoy the swimming enclosures, kids Water Park or sit back and soak up the sun at Townsville’s award winning beach.
Billabong Sanctuary: Get up close and personal with some Aussie Wildlife at Billabong Sanctuary. Cuddle a koala, feed a croc and meet the friendly kangaroos that greet you throughout the park. Billabong Sanctuary hosts regular tours and shows so check out their website for the latest attractions!
Insider tip: Grab a gelato from Juliette’s on the Strand – yum!
Day 2- Townsville City
Reef HQ Great Barrier Reef Aquarium: Find Nemo! Pop into Reef HQ Great Barrier Reef Aquarium to discover the wonderful world of the Great Barrier Reef (without getting wet)!
Museum of Tropical Queensland: If you've ever wanted to fire a cannon, find out about life on board an old sailing ship or discover more about the rainforests and reefs, then add the Museum of Tropical Queensland to your Townsville itinerary.
Insider Tip: Head across the road to Rambutan and enjoy a Mexican fiesta poolside!
Day 3 – Magnetic Island
SeaLink Magnetic Island: Jump on the SeaLink Magnetic Island Ferry for a 20 minute transfer to Magnetic Island!
Aquascene Magnetic Island: Join Aquascene for a half day tour to experience the secret spots of this beautiful island. Discover some of the island’s best beaches and bays – only accessible by boat, snorkel amongst the reefs of Magnetic Island, discover local wildlife and finish your tour with some fishing!
Insider Tip: For an absolutely delicious breakfast or lunch try Early Bird Café at Horseshoe Bay. The Mango Tango smoothie should kick start the tropical vibes
Day 4 – Magnetic Island
Forks Walk: The remarkable forts walk on Magnetic Island is the best vantage point for wildlife, spectacular scenery and historic military sites. The walk is 4km return and takes approximately 1.5hours to complete.
Insider tip: The Forts Walk is the best location on the island to spot koalas in the wild, look out for the arrows made from sticks that locals leave behind to point where they were last seen.
Pilgrim Sailing: Sail into the sunset with an experience on Pilgrim Sailing! Pilgrim Sailing offers small personalised lunchtime and twilight sailing cruises around Magnetic Island on a beautiful 58 foot yacht.
Insider Tip: Cruise from bay to beach in a Topless Car – feel the breeze in your hair and embrace the island way of life. However if you want to get to some of the more secluded bays hire a 4WD!
Day 5 – Paluma Rainforest

Paluma Rainforest: Embrace the natural beauty of the Paluma Range National Park, the southern gateway to the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Here you can escape the coastal lowland heat and relax in the cool mountain air of the Paluma Range.
