Forget everything you know about winter festivals. When the rest of the country is layering up, Townsville throws a party.

On Saturday 26 July, Townsville is flipping the script with ONE STREET ONE DAY — a one-day music festival where the only thing cooler than the lineup is the location. Rooney Street is turning into a sun-soaked, beat-filled backyard for thousands of music lovers and a headline-worthy crew of Aussie acts.

Tickets? Sorted

If you haven’t secured your spot, don’t leave it too late — tickets are selling fast via Ticketek.

This is a 16+ event, and heads-up: no pass-outs. That means one entry, one full-day experience — so come prepped to stay, play and soak up the vibes from start to finish.

Soundtrack Your Saturday

A hand-picked soundscape built to keep you moving from midday to moonlight.

On the Rooney Street stage:

Hilltop Hoods, DMA’s, Meg Mac, In Hearts Wake, Coterie, Brad Cox and Mia Wray

7 acts. 1 stage. 10 hours of live music, Townsville-style. For the latest set times and updates, it’s always a good idea to check the official ONE STREET ONE DAY website before you go.

Getting there

The good news? Rooney Street is as central as it gets.

  • Bus: The Townsville Bus Hub is just a short walk away, with services running throughout the day.

  • Taxi & rideshare: Designated drop-off and pick-up zones will be set up close to the festival site.

  • Driving: Expect limited parking and some road closures around the CBD. If you must drive, check Townsville City Council for updates on parking and detours.

Pro tip: leave the car, bring your crew, and let the good times roll.

Eats, Beats & After-Party Treats

Expect a stacked lineup of local food trucks slinging everything from burgers and bao to loaded fries and sweet treats. It's quick, it’s delicious, and it’s exactly what you want mid-set.

If you’re not ready to call it a night after lights go off, Townsville’s got you covered.

Once you roll out of Rooney Street, whether you're chasing cocktails, a cold one, or something low-key to debrief over, here’s where to head next:

  • Palmer Street – Townsville’s go-to strip for riverside pubs, bars and late-night hangs. Think open-air courtyards, ice-cold beers, and live tunes spilling into the street.

  • City Lane  – Hidden laneways packed with moody bars, cocktail lounges and laid-back eateries. Great for winding down — or winding up again.

Once you've rehydrated and revived, it's time to refuel — and there's no better place than The Strand.

This scenic stretch of coastline is perfect for a slow, salty-air start to your Sunday. Think beach views, iced lattes, and a full recovery menu of bacon, brekkie bowls and banana bread.

While you’re here…

Don’t let the fun stop at the gates. Townsville’s got plenty of unexpected waiting for you:

  • Climb Castle Hill for panoramic city and island views.

  • Ferry to Magnetic Island for beach bars, hiking trails and tropical wildlife.

  • Explore The Strand — a scenic stretch of waterfront packed with cafés, playgrounds and salt-air charm.
