Australia XI versus England 4-day Cricket match

November will bring international cricket to Riverway Stadium, when Cricket Australia Xl hosts the English Men’s Team in a four-day pre-Ashes series from Wednesday 15 to Saturday 18 November 2017. This red ball (day match) four-day series will run in the immediate lead up to the opening Ashes Test Match at the Gabba, which is set to take place from 23 to 27 November 2017. Tickets are on sale now and offer affordable family entertainment. You can also purchase a four-day pass and there are plenty of corporate hospitality packages on offer too! Tickets are also available at the venue on day, from Gate 2. All tickets are sold as general admission and include access to the grandstand. There is no way to reserve a seat in the grandstand. Be sun smart - make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle!

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Basketball - Townsville Prelims

Individual athleticism and skill, combined with teamwork and tactics will have Basketball crowds cheering and chanting all over Queensland. With four captivating quarters of end-to end action each match, spectators will witness sporting entertainment like nothing else. The men’s and women’s Basketball competition will be staged at magnificent indoor arenas in Cairns, Townsville and the Gold Coast, enabling fans far and wide to experience Basketball at its best. Each competing nation will be represented by up to 12 players rotating in this on-court battle for Commonwealth supremacy. Amongst them will be some of the world’s best players ready to display their talents defending, rebounding, dribbling, dunking, shooting and scoring.

Exhibition - 'Reef to Rainforest' by Susan Hollamby

Award winning artist Susan Hollamby elicits the inner character of her subjects, drawing the viewer to contemplate the potential stories and emotions the artist holds close to her heart. Hollamby believes every being has a story and strives to unearth these narratives with her work. An exceptionally technically accomplished artist, Hollamby has been featured in numerous international galleries, won many first prize awards and has been accepted for a wide assortment of prestigious displays including the Archibald and Percival Portrait Prize. Most recently Sue received the winning prize in the Painting 2D section of the second Hinchinbrook Birdlife Art Awards along with the Peoples Choice award for the same exhibition.

Dust N Gold Rodeo

Charters Towers is indisputably the centre of Rodeo in the north and has a long history with rodeo. You will be entertained by the best competitors in rough stock and timed event action. A live band will keep the mood going once the arena action is completed. The rodeo is a great family friendly outing and constantly draws crowds in excess of 1,000 people. All the extreme rodeo action takes place under the covered arena at the Dalrymple Equestrian Complex.

Elliot's Revenge Trail Run

The Elliot's Revenge Trail Run is the second event in the Outer Limits Trail Run Series 2018. This run will take you through the beautiful Bowling Green Bay National Park, testing your stamina on steep hills and satisfying your sense of adventure with creek crossings and challenging trails. With multiple distances to choose from, this event offers fun and challenge to the whole family. There will be prizes for the first three runners in each distance as well as prizes for first place in each age category. Multi Sport Sprint Series 2018 - Pallarenda

Join Outer Limits for a fun, but yet challenging multi sport adventure in Pallarenda, Townsville. This event combines kayaking, mountain biking and trail running into a fast multi sport event. You can either do it solo or in a team or two or three. You can even chose to do the Duathlon option and avoid the kayaking if water isn't your thing. Entries are limited so make sure you register soon. Registration opens January 1 2018.

Anzac Day is the day to remember every Australian who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. A National Day of remembrance for Australia and New Zealand, originally commemorated annually by both countries on 25 April to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli during World War I. Anzac Day commemorative services will be held in Hervey Range, Pentland, Greenvale, Ravenswood and Sellheim, with a Dawn Service at the Charters Towers War Cemetery and morning service at the Cenotaph, observe the Anzac Parade as it makes its way along Gill Street from City Hall to the Cenotaph.

The 10 Days in The Towers Festival brings the historic North Queensland town of Charters Towers to life in a very unique way. Staged during April each year, 10 Days in The Towers is a celebration of many things. To the fore is the sound of country music which can be heard daily in the town's many hotel bars and on the streets of the central business district as the popular buskers entertain shoppers and passers-by. But the 10 Days in The Towers is not only a country music festival - it is so much more than that. Locals and visitors also enjoy line dancing, bush poetry, talent quests, street procession, busking competition, ghost tales and historic tours during the period of the festival which includes the Country Music Festival.
