Treat man’s best friend to an outdoor adventure with hidden trails, open parklands, and off-leash beach fronts in Townsville North Queensland – your pooch will really ‘dig’ it!

Off-leash areas

Run wild and free in one of the many off-leash areas and parks in Townsville! A local fav would have to be Palleranda with its epic beaches, hidden trails, and stunning views to Magnetic Island - definitely one for you and your furry companion to enjoy.

Check out some of the other off-leash areas in the Townsville City Council district.

Dog-friendly cafes

From free treats to complimentary water bowls, there are plenty of pet-friendly cafes where you can share a puppuchino or two with your furry friend. Juliette’s and Juliette’s Gelateria on the Strand and FatDogz at Cannon Park, just to name a few!

Trails and tracks

Unleash your dog’s natural desire to explore with tracks and trails off the beaten track . Take a bush walk up the popular Castle Hill or let them feel the sand under their paws with a beachside stroll along Pallarenda.

  •         Castle Hill – hit up the popular goat track around the city’s best vantage point
  •         Herveys Range – plenty of mini adventures along the Hervey’s Marbles or old highway (Page’s Road)
  •         Ross River pathway – take a scenic stroll then freshen up with a doggie paddle
  •         Rowes Bay Pallarenda – run along the beach and feel the salty breeze in your hair (and fur)
